Process and method
A method focused on understanding use and the formal coherence of every detail.
Every project starts with an analysis phase. Understanding the context, the constraints and the real objectives. Identifying existing and future uses. Before drawing, we must observe.
1. Understanding
This first stage aims to clarify the problem. Who uses it? Under what conditions? With what technical, economic or environmental constraints?
Design provides a structured response rather than an intuitive one. That structure grows out of listening and analysis.
2. Structuring
Once the information has been gathered, the project is organised. Functions are prioritised, priorities defined, interactions simplified. Every decision forms part of an overall logic.
Formal coherence follows from this structure. Form is not imposed. It emerges naturally from the system that has been defined.
3. Development
Development translates intentions into concrete solutions. Modelling, prototyping, testing. This phase allows proportions, assemblies and construction details to be adjusted.
Every detail matters. A poorly considered detail weakens the whole. A coherent detail strengthens the project.
4. Validation
A project must be put to the test. Checking use, technical feasibility and economic coherence. The goal is a realistic, workable and lasting solution.
Methodological principles
- Rigour: every decision is supported by reasoning.
- Legibility: the function must be obvious.
- Coherence: no arbitrary breaks in the logic of form.
- Durability: considering use over time.
This method applies at different scales: object, space, system, visual identity. The context changes. The demand for coherence remains.
BENSETTI Design sees the process as a backbone. Without method, there is no solidity. With a clear method, design becomes a strategic tool.
